What is an influencer media kit, and why do you need one?
An influencer media kit, also called an Instagram media kit or creator introduction, summarizes whom your account reaches, how many people it reaches and how they respond in one or two pages. Brand managers review dozens of potential collaborators each day. Providing a media kit instead of simply asking “Can we collaborate?” in a DM can substantially improve review speed and credibility. It translates why a brand should choose you into the language of metrics.
Why follower count alone is not enough
Follower count measures size, not guaranteed influence or conversion. Brands want the ability to reach their target customers and prompt action, so a kit with only a follower count offers little competitive advantage. Two accounts with 100,000 followers can have very different collaboration value because their reach, engagement, saves, shares and audience composition differ. Micro-influencers often receive better rates thanks to strong engagement and a clear audience. A media kit must show whom you reach and how deeply, not just how many.
Core metrics: introduction, audience, reach, engagement, top content and rates
- ① One-line introduction — account concept, topics and tone, such as “solo-living household tips for working people in their 20s and 30s”.
- ② Audience — follower age, gender and location distributions, plus fit with the core target.
- ③ Reach and impressions — average reach over 30–90 days, reach rate (reach ÷ followers) and non-follower reach share.
- ④ Engagement rate — average by post and Reel, plus save and share rates as deeper value signals than likes.
- ⑤ Top content — screenshots and metrics for 3–5 strong posts or Reels relevant to the collaboration.
- ⑥ Rates and packages — reference prices for feed posts, Reels and Stories, plus bundles.
- ⑦ Collaboration history and contact — past examples, if any, and a reply channel.
Preparing your media kit with Forcletter insights and multilink data
- Step 1: Connect Instagram to Forcletter through OAuth. Forcletter is an official Meta partner and does not store your password.
- Step 2: Review the last 30 and 90 days of reach, impressions, engagement, saves, shares and follower composition in insights.
- Step 3: Select your best-performing posts and Reels and record their metrics with screenshots.
- Step 4: Use the ad rate prediction tool (/price-check) to establish reference feed and Reel rates from measured account metrics and market data.
- Step 5: Build a one- or two-page document in the order introduction → audience → reach → engagement → top content → rates.
- Step 6: Add collaboration inquiries and a media kit link block to your multilink at forcreator.co.kr/@username so brands can reach them from your profile.
Presenting numbers honestly, without exaggeration
A media kit earns trust through accuracy. Brands check actual results after a collaboration, so inflated numbers may work briefly but cost repeat work and reputation. The key practices are below.
- Specify the period, such as “average over the last 30 days”.
- Use averages and ranges instead of peaks; do not highlight only one viral Reel.
- Show saves and shares rather than only likes; deeper-interest metrics build trust.
- Be honest about follower quality and explain sudden growth or event-driven acquisition.
- Label pricing as indicative and explain that format, usage rights and duration affect the final rate.
Rate and package examples, and sharing through your profile link
List rates by content type and offer bundles so brands can choose easily. For example, combine one Reel, one feed post and two Stories, then add options for reuse and advertising usage rights. Start from the prediction tool's reference range and adjust for production difficulty, filming volume and exclusivity. Publish your finished kit as a PDF or link in a multilink block, so brands can open it from forcreator.co.kr/@username and contact you through an application form or inquiry block.
How often to update your media kit, and its limits
- Update metrics every quarter, or 3 months, and whenever followers, reach or your concept change significantly.
- Replace top content and collaboration examples with recent work to keep the kit persuasive.
- Influencers create the kit, send proposals and negotiate themselves; Forcletter does not negotiate on their behalf.
- Rates are references, not guaranteed results. Actual performance varies by content, timing and brand fit.
Who will find this especially useful
- Influencers starting brand collaborations who do not know how to prepare a proposal.
- Micro-influencers who want to prove value through a clear audience and strong engagement despite a smaller following.
- People who want to present consistent, metric-based rates instead of inconsistent collaboration prices.
When a media kit is not the priority
- Early accounts without a defined concept or target: establish identity before preparing a media kit.
- Accounts run purely as a hobby with no intention to collaborate.
- Attempts to inflate metrics just to raise rates quickly: this harms repeat work and reputation.
