What is a comment event, and why does it attract participation?
A comment event lets people enter an Instagram campaign simply by posting a specified keyword. This single action lowers the barrier to participation. Comments also tend to provide stronger engagement signals than likes, supporting exposure; additional conditions such as tagging friends or reposting can turn each entry into new reach. But as comments grow, tracking who used which keyword and when becomes difficult. That is the real operational challenge.
How entries get lost among comments and DMs
Most failures occur during operations rather than planning. People enter correctly, but organizers miss their comments and never send the instructions.
- With hundreds of comments, keyword entries mix with ordinary replies and become hard to identify individually.
- Manual informational DMs arrive late or omit some participants.
- When it is time to announce winners, records of who entered with the correct keyword are scattered.
- Participants who receive no information may suspect unfair selection, reducing trust and participation in future events.
Designing entry keywords and automating informational DMs
- Step 1 — Pick a short word that is easy to spell, such as “join”, “apply” or “me too”. A word uncommon in ordinary comments makes entry detection more accurate.
- Step 2 — Clearly state in the caption and image that leaving the keyword will trigger an informational DM, so users consent before commenting.
- Step 3 — Connect the post and keyword in Forcletter comment auto-DMs and prepare the message to send.
- Step 4 — When a participant comments with the keyword, the preset DM is sent automatically in response to their action.
- Step 5 — Include a multilink or application-form URL to guide people naturally to the next action, such as visiting a page or completing a form.
Sending informational DMs for keyword comments with consent
Forcletter sends a configured DM when a comment on a post contains a preset keyword. Crucially, it only sends after the user leaves that keyword first. The organizer does not invent a recipient list: the participant's explicit comment acts as the consent signal. Entry and guidance become one continuous flow, reducing omissions.
- Configure different messages by post and keyword to run multiple events at once.
- Tell AI Poki to send entry instructions when someone comments “event” and complete the configuration through conversation.
- Include a multilink at forcreator.co.kr/@username or a form link to lead to the next step.
Organize the steps after entry and winner notification on one page
Events usually continue with questions, winner checks and prize-delivery instructions. A multilink or form in the DM can handle winner confirmation and shipping information on one page. Put frequent questions in the DM and event page to reduce repeated responses. DM sorting can separate collaboration offers and general inquiries so urgent participant questions are prioritized. Every DM should still originate from the participant's initial comment signal.
Connecting events to multilinks and application forms
Comments and DMs are the entrance; multilinks can complete information collection and conversion. Forcletter public pages at forcreator.co.kr/@username support link, product, social, form, gallery and Instagram feed blocks. Put the application form at the top during the event and direct DMs there to collect addresses and contact details together. Block-level clicks and views show where entries arrive, while theme customization and A/B testing let you compare page layouts.
Review event results through reach, saves and profile visits
Entry counts alone do not capture event performance; also examine how far the post spread. Forcletter collects and visualizes post, Reel and follower metrics and sends weekly Kakao Alimtalk reports, helping compare patterns before and after the event.
- Reach and impressions — check how many new accounts the event post reached.
- Saves — an intention to revisit prize or benefit information, indicating content value.
- Profile visits — show whether event visitors explored the account further.
- Follower changes — compare acquisition and churn before and after the event.
Recommended for these organizers

Stay within policy: unsolicited bulk sending is not recommended
Comment auto-DMs should only be used with consent signaled by the user's prior keyword comment. Forcletter does not perform or recommend the following practices.
- Indiscriminate bulk DMs to people who have not consented carry substantial risk of Meta policy violations.
- Scraping follower or customer lists and sending messages to everyone.
- Using bots to generate comments or encourage reciprocal follows.
- Exaggerated guarantees: an event cannot promise increased reach or followers.
